Officer Reportedly Shoots Suspect Armed with Shotgun in Culver City

The incident is reported near Washington Boulevard and Huron Avenue.

Update 7:15 p.m.  A suspect was wounded in an officer-involved shooting in Culver City today, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 2:30 p.m. in front of a 7-Eleven in the 11000 block of West Washington Boulevard, near Huron Avenue, police and sheriff's officials said.

The suspect, a man, was taken to a hospital, but his condition was not available, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which dispatched homicide detectives to assist Culver City police in the shooting investigation.

A car that crashed into a fence about a block and a half away from the scene—at Marietta Avenue and Elenda Street—was somehow involved in the shooting, KCAL9 reported. (See attached video).

No officers were wounded, and Washington has reportedly been shut down between Overland Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard, according to the LA Weekly.
