Julie Lugo Cerra
Julie Lugo Cerra was born and raised in Culver City, a fifth generation Californian on the Lugo side. She is the author of more than 300 historic articles, and is currently working on her fourth book. Cerra is a founding member and past president of the Culver City Historical Society, was appointed City Historian by the Culver City Council in 1996. She also served as the first chair of the Cultural Affairs Commission, and was an appointment to the Historic State Capitol Commission by then Speaker Herb Wesson. She served two terms on the Culver City Board of Education, from 1985-1993. Family, friends, cooking, painting and gardening make her happy. She also owns her own consulting business and thinks she is semi-retired.
