The Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City is the newest member of Center Theatre Group's family of…More theatres (which includes the Mark Taper Forum and Ahmanson Theatre at the Los Angeles Music Center). The 317-seat venue, located in a renovated historic theatre, opened in October 2004. Artistic Director Michael Ritchie selects classics, world premieres, and original musicals to broaden the audience and artistic range of the venue.
Annually, Center Theatre Group has the option to offer dates at the Kirk Douglas Theatre for use by Culver City-based community and cultural organizations. This is made possible through The Kirk Douglas Theatre Community Access Program, which was developed as part of the lease arrangement for the theatre.
