Culver City Middle School fosters education in math, sciences, language arts, physical education, social studies, ELD, and a series of electives.  CCMS also offers a special education program. Extracurricular sports activities include volleyball, baseketball, soccer, cross country, flag football, and cheerleading.  

The Culver City Middle School also participates in the Unified School District GATE Program, which strives to implement high quality differentiated opportunities for learning that meet the needs of GATE students' talents.

Characteristics of GATE Students

A gifted child could possess any number of the following characteristics:

• Is curious; asks many questions.
• May become absorbed in activities and thoughts.
• May engage in self-initiated activities independently.
• May see problems and issues from multiple perspectives.
• May demonstrate leadership qualities.
• May have highly developed sense of humor for peer group.
• Prefers flexibility to routine.
• Prefers complex and challenging tasks.
• Catches on quickly but may resist during routine work
