Memorial Day Weekend Beach, Surf and Weather Report

A look at Los Angeles beach grades, surf conditions and the weather forecast for your Memorial Day weekend.

Los Angeles Weather Report:

The Memorial Day weekend will see mostly nice weather with the nicest days coming on Sunday and Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday will see patches of fog before 11 a.m. along with clouds through most of the morning. Clouds and fog will gradually clear through the afternoon with highs topping out in the mid-60s. Winds will stick to the 5-10 mph range. Expect lows in the upper 50s.

Sunday will see mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s. Winds will remain steady around 10 mph with overnight lows int he upper 50s.

Monday, Memorial Day, is expected to be partly sunny with highs in the upper 60s and lows again in the upper 50s. Overnight Monday will see a slight chance of showers, according to the National Weather Service.

Los Angeles Surf Report

The National Weather service predicts larger surf heights of around 2-3 feet for Saturday with a mixed northwest wind swell and south swell. Sunday and Monday will see that northwest wind swell build. Water temperature will be in the 64-66 degree range.

The interactive map is a water quality report for beaches in dry weather from April 22 to May 22 compiled from data courtesy of Heal the Bay, a nonprofit environmental group. Beach grades are based on an A+ to F scale. Grades indicate the likelihood of swimmers becoming ill. Water samples are analyzed for bacteria – enterococcus, total and fecal coliforms. The report does not measure the amount of trash or toxins found at local beaches.

  • Pink = D
