Julian Dixon Summer Reading Shindig

Families flocked to the Julian Dixon Library for an evening filled with games, reading, prizes and a movie showing.

It was a Saturday night of fun, face-painting and family at the Culver City Friends of the Library's "Summer Reads" event at the Julian Dixon Library. This year's movie selection was "Charlotte's Web."

"I like getting kids exposed to books and stories. We can really show them what books can offer," said Wanda Anesh, president of Friends of the Library since January, but involved with the volunteer organization for four years. This organization is dedicated to supporting the library through events, donations and fundraising.

Saturday's event brought more than 80 people out to the library and is just one of the many events that the Friends of the Library hosts each year.
