How long have you been a volunteer? Most of my adult life. For example, I took on bake sales at El Marino and ran them but certainly not single-handedly; there was a team of us who worked together for eight years. I have also held positions within the PTA, such as the recording secretary and president. At school, I have helped in the classroom along with being a room parent for several years. When my older daughter wanted to join Girl Scouts, I stepped up to be co-leader and then leader of her troop.

What needs does your chosen organization fill? Generally, I see that the organizations I volunteer for support children and make their lives better. When my older daughter started school I jumped in with both feet.
What is the most personally rewarding part of being a volunteer? Knowing that I am contributing to something that improves the quality of our lives.
