The Actors’ Gang Presents 'The Tempest: The Star Wars Edition' at Culver City's Media Park

The 40-minute adaptation of the Shakespearean classic is the sixth installment of the Gang's popular Summer Theatre in the Park. The performances are free and run every weekend through the end of August.

Star Wars meets Shakespeare in latest Summer in the Park Family Theatre program.

The 40-minute family-friendly show is adapted and directed by Cynthia Ettinger from William Shakespeare’s The Tempest.

The Tempest centers on the magical actions of Prospero and spirits that inhabit an island he and his young daughter landed on after he was banished and stripped of his noble title by his own brother. The Actors’ Gang’s adaptation sees Star Wars characters land in Culver City.

The Tempest: The Star Wars Edition is the sixth installment of the Gang’s popular Summer Theater-in-the-Park Family Program presented free of charge and open to the public annually in , where a new original play adapted from Shakespeare is presented free for young people and their families.

Performances take place in Media Park, adjacent to The Actors’ Gang home at . It is open to the public and free of charge.  Blankets, low lawn chairs, hats and picnics are encouraged!  As always, actors interact with the audience during and after the show, and free ice pops are enjoyed by all.

The show runs every Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. through Aug. 26. No tickets are required.
