Kids Bike Safety Festival

On Sunday, May 6, El Marino Language School will play host a Kids Bike Safety Festival. The goal of the festival is to teach children how to ride their bikes safely and responsibly and to encourage them - and their parents - to bike to school more frequently.

The festival will feature several stations designed to teach kids (and demonstrate to their parents) proper bike handling skills and valuable safety techniques. Children will learn how to properly wear and fit their helmets, how to inspect their bikes before each ride, proper starting and stopping technique, how to easily avoid hazards and more. After completing all the stations, the children will participate in a group ride around the neighborhood so they can practice what they’ve learned under the watchful eyes of trained instructors.

Assemblymember Holly Mitchell  (D-CA)  and Culver City Mayor Andrew Weissman will kick off he event at 10. In addition to the skills stations, kids can test out the obstacle course, enjoy the bike wash and more.
