Culver City Announces 6th Annual Birthday Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Culver City Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee announces that it will celebrate its annual tribute to Dr. King on his birthday this coming January 15th 2011. The Theme for this year's celebration is "Dr. King… Continuing to Inspire."

According to the event's chairperson Patricia Siever, "We are focusing not only on the past, but how Dr. King's accomplishments will continue to inspire all those who care deeply about racial justice and human rights in the future."

The program will feature a screening of Stanley Nelson's award winning documentary Freedom Riders, which dramatically captures the journey of the Civil Rights Movement that literally changed the face of America. The wonderful historic documentary will be followed by a lively five member Panel discussion with a Q & A period. Acclaimed actor Keith David, Emmy Award winner, narrator and star of stage and screen will be the Master of Ceremonies for this jubilant Dr. MLK Birthday Celebration.  Most recently, Keith David was a narrator in The Princess and the Frog and starred in films such as The Lottery Ticket, Homecoming, Crash and Death at a Funeral, just to name a few.
