Culver City All-Stars Advance in District Tournament

The Little League team pummeled its first two opponents, but this time the 9- and 10-year-olds squeak by Beverly Hills to advance in the winner's bracket. They will play Santa Monica on Saturday.

The Culver City 9- and 10-year-old All-Stars beat up its first two opponents in the California District 25 All-Star Tournament--winning 10-4 over Culver Marina in the first round and 19-11 over Santa Monica East in the second. On Wednesday, Culver City had a little tougher game on its hands, but pulled out a 3-2 victory over the Beverly Hills All-Stars at Memorial Park in Santa Monica.

Culver City advances in the winner's bracket and will play Santa Monica West on Saturday at noon in the double elimination tournament. Santa Monica West has had little trouble to this point, as well. It beat West L.A. in its first tournament game 8-1 and advanced to the match up against Culver City with a 12-0 victory over the Ladera Little League.  Click to see photos from Wednesday's game.
