Councilmembers Take Themselves Out to the Ball Game

Mayor Micheal O'Leary and Councilman Andrew Weissman were on hand for the Culver City Little League opening ceremonies on Saturday.

Over a thousand people turned out Saturday to celebrate the 55th opening day ceremonies for the Culver City Little League at Culver City Park.

Among the attendees were Mayor Micheal O’Leary, Councilman Andrew Weissman and former Councilman Scott Malsin.  O’Leary and Weissman were given the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitches.

The Culver City Little League – an all-volunteer operation - has been an anchor of the Culver City community for both boys and girls since 1957.

The support of families, local businesses and corporate and community sponsors including Bunnin Chevrolet, Sony Pictures, Pacific Alarms, Tito’s Tacos, 7-11 (Berryman store) and the Culver City News, has ensured that kids can continue to play baseball and softball in Culver City.

Currently, 700 boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 16 play in 10 different divisions of baseball and softball in the League every season.
