Rep. Karen Bass Sponsors Art Competition

High school students are encouraged to enter the 2012 Congressional Art Competition.

Rep. Karen Bass, who currently represents the 33rd Congressional District, is inviting high school students to enter the 2012 Congressional Art Competition, "An Artistic Discovery."

The U.S. House of Representatives has sponsored the nationwide high school arts contest for 30 years to highlight the artistic skills of young artists from around the nation.

Culver City high school students are welcome to submit their art work on or before Friday, April 20, to the office of Rep. Karen Bass.

This year's winner will have their art work displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year and receive two, round-trip airline tickets to Washington, D.C., to attend an unveiling ceremony with Rep. Karen Bass and other members of Congress.

The art submissions will also be displayed online beginning Monday, April 23.
