Gemstone Beads Presentation at Culver City Rock and Mineral Club

The Culver City Rock and Mineral Club invites you to join them at their next monthly meeting where noted gemstone bead expert and CCRMC member Ken Rogers will present “Almost Everything You Need To Know About Gemstones Used In Beads”.  The presentation will include history and the first lapidaries, important gemstone physical properties, hardness vs. toughness, gemstones that should not be used, bead hole problems and how gemstones get their names.  Gemstone bead fakes, simulants, created and manipulations will also be discussed.  Ken will have samples to show and pass around and his presentation promises to be informative and entertaining.
