Environmental Science Fair Competition Accepting Entries

Middle school students urged to participate.

Culver City middle school students interested in science are invited to enter this year's Environmental Science Fair sponsored by the South Bay Business Environmental Coalition.

The 18th annual fair is designed for fifth-grade through eighth-grade students. Through the fair, they are able to exhibit their creativity and offer their own answers to various environmental issues.

Organizers expect over 100 science fair projects to be part of this year's event. Prizes will be doled out for first, second, and third place in the areas of water and energy, earth and air. A special award will be given to the student whose project is deemed the "Most Innovative Solution." A previous winner won a U.S. patent for his project on solar energy, according to the South Bay Business Environmental Coalition.
