Don't Forget... All Culver City Schools Are Closed Today

Monday, Jan. 30 is one of four furlough days for the 2011-2012 school year in Culver City.

The kids are probably thrilled today, and hopefully parents have back-up plans available as all Culver City Unified School District schools are closed today.

On Sept. 28, 2011, The Culver City Federation of Teachers (CCFT), Association of Classified Employees (ACE), the Management Association of Culver City Schools (MACCS) and the Culver City Unified School District entered a Memorandum of Agreement for the 2011-2012 school year for furlough.

During those negotiations the Culver City Unified School District restored two of the negotiated six furlough days for the 2011-2012 school year. However, there were still four furlough days that were maintained. Two of those days already occurred in 2011.

The third furlough day is today and the fourth will be on May 25, 2012. Both teaching staff and administrative staff in the school district have the day off.
