Culver City High to Dedicate New Athletic Facilities on Friday

The new facilities include a new track and playing field.

Just in time for the start of the Centaur's 2013 football season, Culver City High School will dedicate its athletic facilities Friday night.

According to the school, the $4.85 million upgrades include a new synthetic track and synthetic athletic field, which will be utilized by thousands of students every week. In addition, the school added a new scoreboard, new field equipment and ADA access to the field.

"I look forward to celebrating opening night of the renovated athletic complex with our Culver City family, neighbors, and community," Culver City High School Principal Dylan Farris said in an email. "Please join us to honor the hard work of everyone who made it possible and to enjoy the first Friday night football game on the new field."

Dedication activities begin Friday at 6:15 p.m. and include a celebration of the entire Centaur athletic program, special presentations and fireworks, the school said.

Following the dedication, the Centaurs will take on West Torrance High School in their first football game of the year.
