Culver City Elementary Schools Gear Up for Fall

All CCUSD elementary schools are in Fall fever mode, getting ready for Halloween with fall festivals and carnivals.

The weather is finally cooling down and Culver City Unified School District elementary schools promise great family fun with their upcoming Halloween activities including fall festivals and carnivals. Farragut Elementary held its Ninth Annual Fall Festival this past Saturday, but there are still plenty of other events to participate in.

Here’s how each of the other elementary schools plans to celebrate:

The school is hosting its Fall Festival this Sat. Oct. 27 from 1-5 p.m. on the school playground. Expect plenty of games, interactive booths, arts and crafts, a haunted house, an inflatable activity obstacle course, face painting, and a tattoo parlor. Of course there will be food and entertainment.

 El Marino Language School

El Marino’s Halloween Carnival will also take place this Sat. Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on the school’s back playground at the corner of Diller and Coolidge.  Among the activities available are a haunted library, a pumpkin derby, games, music and even a chili cook-off. Middle and High school student volunteers are welcome and are being asked to arrive at 8 a.m. and bring their Service Learning Sign-off Sheet. Lin Howe is also looking for middle school and high school volunteers for 3- 6 p.m. on Fri. Oct. 26 and after 8 a.m. on Sat. Oct. 27. To volunteer, please contact Mari at meow514@yahoo.com.

La Ballona

The school’s Fourth Annual Fall Festival will take place on Sat. Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on La Ballona’s big playground. Games, activities entertainment and great food are all promised. La Ballona is hoping you’ll rally friends and family to help with the pre-festival planning.  Pre-sales will kick off on Oct. 31 after the Mask Parade on the big playground and will continue on November 1 and 2, before and after school in front of the library. Tickets will cost $1 each and can be used for game booths, activities, food, drinks, and inflatables. Advanced ticket purchases will be discounted during the pre-sale week.

Sponsorship opportunities are available. Those interested should contact Mohi Chand at mohichand@hotmail.com.

Individual serving bottles/cans of water, soda and juice boxes are needed and will be accepted on Fri. Nov. 2 in front of the library.
