CCUSD Community Meeting on Capital Improvements, Potential Bond

The Culver City Unified School District will hold a community meeting Monday night to discuss whether to place a bond on the November ballot.

The Culver City Unified School District will hold a community meeting tonight (July 1) to discuss the District's capital improvement needs and the possibility of placing a facilities bond on the November school board election ballot.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in CCUSD's Board Room  - 4034 Irving Pl. Culver City, 90232 - and will focus on a report from the District's election consultant, including preliminary results of a phone survey about a potential bond measure.

"Currently, our District is in the midst of a variety of capital improvement projects, including a feasibility study addressing the needs and priorities for Robert Frost Auditorium, extensive upgrades to our Culver City High School athletic stadium, as well as a significant solar power project," said Superintendent Dave LaRose.

“We are anxious to develop a strategy to address our many facility modernization needs and want to engage community stakeholders, teachers, parents and construction professionals in developing a shared vision for facilities that provide the educational opportunities our students require for success in the 21st century,” he added.

A public opinion survey was held in June to gauge community support for a possible future general obligation bond measure being placed before voters In addition, the District has kicked off an on-line survey to solicit input from the community. To take the survey, please visit www.ccusd.org/survey
