What You Need to Know For Today's Culver City Council Elections

Everything you need to know about today's City Council elections can be found here. Patch will be on hand at City Hall and at all the candidates' election returns parties well into the night, bringing you the results as they come in.

Election Day is finally here and it's time to cast your ballots. Here are some things you should know for today.

1. There are four open seats and six candidates in today's city council election. Here is how the candidates are listed on today's ballot:

Scott Malsin

Stephen Murray

Micheal (Mehaul) O'Leary

Andrew Weissman

Jim Clarke

Meghan Sahli-Wells

2. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

3. Don’t forget, you’ll also have the opportunity to cast your vote for or against Measure X to increase the City’s Transit Occupancy Tax from 12 to 14 percent.

4. Below is a complete list of all the precincts and polling stations. If you're not sure where your polling station is, head over to LAVote.net and you can find out by typing in your house number and street name.

PRECINCT 4 - City Hall – Daniel L. Patacchia Conference Rm. - 9770 Culver Boulevard, Culver City, 90232 (HCP: Yes; Precincts 4, 6 & 55)

PRECINCT 7 – Julian Dixon County Library – 4975 Overland Avenue, Culver City, 90230 (HCP: Yes; Precincts 7 & 8)

PRECINCT 11 – Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium - 4117 Overland Avenue, Culver City, 90230 (HCP: Yes; Precincts 11, 13 & 16)

PRECINCT 14 – Residence – 5964 Stoneview Drive, Culver City, 90232 (HCP: Yes)

PRECINCT 22 – Grandview Palms – 4061 Grand View Boulevard, Los Angeles, 90066 (HCP: Yes; Precincts 22 & 24)

PRECINCT 42 - Raintree Condominiums – Lakeside Club House - 2000 Raintree Circle, Culver City, 90232 (HCP: Yes)

PRECINCT 73 – The Meadows – 6300 Green Valley Circle, Culver City, 90230 (HCP: Yes; Precincts 73 & 76)

PRECINCT 74 – La Sorra Loma Apartments – 6000 Buckingham Parkway, Culver City, 90230 (HCP: Yes; Precincts 74 & 75)

5. Five of the six candidates are holding election return parties as soon as the polls close. The public is welcome to drop by and join in the celebrating and/or comiserating at the following place from 8 p.m. onwards:

Scott Malsin: Kay 'N Dave's

Micheal O'Leary: The Culver Hotel

Maybe more to the point, where does the methane (way more powerful than CO2 as a greenhouse gas)Read More release go from the fracking process, where do the "secret"and other cancer causing chemicals go, and who pays for clean-up costs, increased healthcare costs of residents nearby, possible increased earthquake damage, etc. and where does this oil go (we can't use it--too dirty--so probably China)?

As I understand it, fracking wells "dry up" fairly quickly, which is why pressure to keepRead More drilling so urgent. Where do the jobs go after a year or so? Just a thought....
