Westside Drivers Beware: Obama Visit, 405 Project

Venture to the Westside Friday at your own risk, as traffic delays are inevitable with the President Obama visit and the freeway project construction.

The following post was written and reported by Patch Editor Matthew Sanderson.

President Barack Obama arrives in L.A. today and is scheduled to speak at a luncheon fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee in Santa Monica

In addition to the expected Obamajam, there's regular morning and afternoon closures scheduled for the  I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project, which could add to traffic woes.

Los Angeles 11th District City Councilman Bill Rosendahl said the Los Angeles Police Department issued an alert Thursday about the potential traffic delays and to avoid these areas, and is urging locals to plan ahead and map out a different route before heading to their destination.

"Government agencies are working together to ensure the least amount of disruption possible during the president's visit to Los Angeles," Rosendahl said.
