Three 10-Hour Night Time 405 Freeway Closures Begin May 10

The Santa Monica Boulevard off-ramp to the on-ramp closures will take place in order to repair slabs on several approaches.

Construction on the 405 Freeway continues in May with three major 10-hour closures to perform slab repair on several approaches.

The full 10-hour northbound freeway closures from the Santa Monica Boulevard off-ramp to the Santa Monica Boulevard on-ramp are scheduled for the nights of Fri. May 10, Fri. May 17 and Sat. May 18, from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m.

The following ramps will be closed during the 10-hour closures:

  • Northbound Olympic Boulevard on-ramp
  • I-10 west connector to northbound I-405
  • I-10 east connector to northbound I-405

What to expect:

  • Schedule and details are subject to change.
  • Northbound Santa Monica Boulevard off and on-ramps will remain open.
  • Detour: Exit at the Santa Monica Boulevard off-ramp, go straight through traffic light and enter the Santa Monica Boulevard on-ramp.
  • Traffic control officers will be deployed.
  • California Highway Patrol will be monitoring the area surrounding the closure.

The latest work comes following the April 25 announcement the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project is delayed and is overbudgeted.
