PXP to Present Its Fracking Report to the Public Tonight; Food & Water Watch Press Conference Ahead of Meeting

UPDATE: Food & Water Watch will host a press conference outside the church at 6 p.m. - 30 minutes before PXP's presentation.

PXP - the oil company that wants to drill the Inglewood/Baldwin Hills oil fields "to death" - literally, has just released the results of a yearlong study that finds in their favor.

To add insult to injury, the Los Angeles Times put out an article about the PXP study on "safe fracking."

The manipulated results of the PXP study are no huge surprise. It claims that there is "no evidence of health risks nor seismic risks due to fracking."

We already know this to be untrue. There is already overwhelming evidence across this country that fracking is dangerous to human health via the risk of poisonous gases being released from the fractured shale rock 600 feet or deeper underground, and from the use of irreversibly polluted metric tons of "oily/slick" water used to blast that rock open with no precautionary measures. The wasted water is then evaporated with 500 or more toxic chemicals.

There is currently a global water shortage and an ongoing shortage in California. Plus the Inglewood Oil Field is on a 7.0 seismic fault line. This is really about common sense, and refusing to buy into printed lies. 
 

In the residential area surrounding the Inglewood Oil Field, there is currently property damage to homes cracking from underground drilling; a school that cannot fix a reappearing sinkhole, and a dog park that had to be closed due to oil and gas bubbling and oozing from the ground.

There are already cancer clusters in some areas at the foot of those hills where there has been unregulated drilling since 1924.

Please mark your calendar. On Mon. Oct. 15, PXP will present its report to the public. They chose a Monday night at 6:30 p.m. to ensure that few would show up. Our lives depend on people showing up. You may say, "Why is this important? I live far away." Well, if we allow them to frack Inglewood they will frack all of California. So please try to attend or send someone who can:
