to consider banning single use plastic bags. Legislation has already been drafted on this issue in Los Angeles City, unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County and Santa Monica

At the Culver City Dec. 10 meeting, the City Council directed staff to draft an ordinance to ban single use plastic carryout bags and require a minimum 10 cents per bag charge for single use carryout paper bags at covered stores.

The City is now inviting residents to take part in one of two meetings to discuss the proposal. At both meetings there will be a brief presentation by City staff followed by time for the community to ask questions and provide input.
