Neon Tommy Weighs In: WTFrack?

While Culver City residents have been vocal about the issues surrounding fracking, a recent article reveals that plenty of Californians are still unaware of what is happening in their own backyard.

Fracking is once again in the spotlight, especially with the passage of three bills through the which calls for a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing.

Shortly before that vote, Neon Tommy Magazine “Even though California is home to a 1,750-square-mile-swath of underground shale rock, which the U.S. Department of Energy estimates could contain more than 15 billion barrels of oil, state legislators have yet to create clear regulations regarding fracking.”

Despite the ongoing efforts by numerous groups – including Culver City-based organizations - to create more awareness about fracking there still appears to be much to learn according to an interview in Neon Tommy with Dr. Tom Williams, a retired oil-field expert.

Williams said he believes it will take at least two years before state regulators pass fracking rules and that Californians still don’t have enough access to information on the potential dangers of fracking.
