May 13 Culver City City Council Discussion on Single-Use Carryout Bag Ordinance

The public is invited to participate in the discussion, which will take place in council chambers on Mon. May 13 at 7 p.m.

On Mon. May 13, the Culver City City Council will once again discuss the issue of single-use plastic bags.

At the meeting the following will be considered:

Introduction of an Ordinance banning single-use plastic carryout bags and requiring a minimum $0.10 per bag charge for single-use paper carryout bags; and

Adoption of Resolutions adopting an Addendum to the Los Angeles County Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR), Mitigation Monitoring Program, and Statement of Overriding Considerations in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

The public is invited and encouraged to attend the session, which will take part as part of the regular City Council meeting at 7 p.m. in the Mike Balkman Chambers at Culver City City Hall, 9770 Culver Blvd.

If you are unable to attend the meeting but wish to provide City Council with written comment you can do so by submitting your comments before 4 p.m. on Mon. May 13 via the following means:

  1. By LETTER to the City Clerk, City of Culver City, 9770 Culver Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232;
  2. By FAX to the City Clerk at 310-253-6010; or
  3. By EMAIL to city.clerk@culvercity.org.

Copies of the County’s FEIR and the City’s Addendum are available for review at the City Hall Engineering Division counter. The documents are also available on the Culver City website, www.culvercity.org

The City Council Agenda Item Report for this item will be available on the City’s website no later than May 10, 2013, or you can obtain a copy from the City Clerk’s Office or the Julian Dixon Library, 4975 Overland Avenue, Culver City.
