Help Curb Copper Wiring and Street Sign Thefts

Thefts of Culver City street signs and copper wiring from streetlights are on the rise. The City is asking the public to be on alert and report any damage.

There’s been a spate of strange thefts in Culver City recently. Copper wiring has been stolen for City street lights and there’s been an uptick in street sign thefts.

The Public Works Department is asking the public to help by reporting damage to or theft of City infrastructure including street lights, street name signs, traffic signs, City-owned facilities, traffic signals and parkway and median trees.

All Public Works Department vehicles are clearly marked with “Culver City” identification on the sides of the vehicles and all employees are dressed in official City-issued uniforms unless they are contractors hired by the City for special projects.
