Heavy Westside Traffic Expected Monday for Obama's Visit

Roads will be impacted when the president heads to West Hollywood from LAX in the late afternoon.

President Barack Obama will arrive in Los Angeles for two fundraising activities on Monday, and Councilmember Bill Rosendahl is warning of potential traffic delays on the Westside.

The president is due to arrive at LAX at 4:40 p.m. and is expected to travel through Westwood and Beverly Hills to attend events at The House of Blues on the Sunset Strip and Fig & Olive restaurant on Melrose Place at La Cienega Boulevard.

On Tuesday morning, Obama is expected to travel through Beverly Hills and Westwood on his way back to LAX and more street closures are expected.

 According to a release by Rosendahl, the following streets will be impacted:

Mon., Sept. 26

  • Sunset Blvd between Barrington Ave and La Cienega Blvd (5:00p-5:15 p.m.)
  • La Cienega Blvd between Melrose Ave and Waring St (7:15-10:00 p.m.)   
  • (La Cienega will be shut down for approximately two hours)

Tues., Sept. 27

  •  Sunset Blvd between Rodeo Dr and Barrington Ave (9:30 - 10:05 a.m.)
