Find Your Polling Location

Election Day is just around the corner. Know where to go to vote and how to get a sample ballot.

As Tuesday’s election nears, it’s time for voters to prepare.

The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk has a helpful website for voters to find their local polling place. Visitors also can select a party preference to get a sample ballot.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

In addition to the presidential primary, voters will weigh in on a U.S. Senate candidate and two statewide ballot measures. If passed, Proposition 29 would add a $1 tax to cigarette to fund cancer research. Prop. 28 would put a 12-year term limit on lawmakers in the state Legislature. A politician currently can serve in office for 14 years.

Thank you, Melissa! I would so love to see our local area voter turn outs begin to increase. PArt of helping that happen is helping people find out, or confirm, where their polling place is.

Yes, let's hope voters exercise their voice tomorrow. As much as we might all have complaints about the state of things and politics, it's still important, I think, to keep our democratic process going by voting.

I will be voting for David Steinman! He is the only candidate born and raised in this district and has a track record of advocating for the people of this area both here and in Washington. www.Steinman2012.com

Summary of Prop 28 is not exactly as it sounds. The 14 years would be split between the two state branches of government. The 12 years would be in one legislative branch. This will actually give more state politicians the opportunity to stay in elected office longer.
