Expo Line EIR Reviews for Stops Between Culver City and Santa Monica

Westside residents will have the chance to weigh in on both the plans for mixed-used development at the stations along the Expo Light Rail corridor as well as the second phase of construction.

The Expo Line intends to link downtown Los Angeles to Santa Monica by 2030, and construction is underway to extend the rail from Culver City into downtown Santa Monica in 2016. 

A public meeting to kick off the environmental review of the five stations between Culver City and Santa Monica will take place tonight, April 10 at 6 p.m. at the IMAN Cultural Center in Palms. Feedback will be taken following a presentation on the project at 6:15 p.m. There, residents can ask the Los Angeles Department of City Planning about its plan to rezone areas within a 15 minute walk of the five Expo stations.

That plan does not include the three stations under construction in Santa Monica.

Community meetings by the Expo Construction Authority will also take place this month to update the public on the second phase of construction.

The first meeting will take place on Wed. April 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services gymnasism, located at 3200 Motor Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90034. Parking is available on campus

The second meeting will take place in Santa Monica on  Mon. April 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Crossroads School community room, located at 1715 Olympic Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90404. Parking  is available on campus and surrounding streets.
