Culver City Plaza Lion Fountain Undergoing ‘Mane-tenance’

The yellow tape and orange poles recently seen around the fountain are only a temporary measure, while City crews inspect the area.

If you’ve seen yellow tape and orange poles around the Town Plaza Lion Fountain recently, it’s because City crews are currently performing ‘mane-tenance’ on the sculpture.

A Culver City spokesperson told Patch, the City “is currently evaluating the function and operation of the fountain, the lion sculpture, and the public space that surrounds it.  The City wants to protect the artwork and help ensure that the public can enjoy it.”

The tape and poles are expected to be removed sometime today and the fountain will be shut off while the fountain area is inspected and any necessary repairs made.

Maybe more to the point, where does the methane (way more powerful than CO2 as a greenhouse gas)Read More release go from the fracking process, where do the "secret"and other cancer causing chemicals go, and who pays for clean-up costs, increased healthcare costs of residents nearby, possible increased earthquake damage, etc. and where does this oil go (we can't use it--too dirty--so probably China)?

As I understand it, fracking wells "dry up" fairly quickly, which is why pressure to keepRead More drilling so urgent. Where do the jobs go after a year or so? Just a thought....
