Congratulations to the Bus Driver of the Year

Vibert Evelyn prides himself on keeping city bus passengers safe and sound.

Culver City residents eager to get a glimpse of Vibert Evelyn, bus driver of the year, can hop on the Washington 1, the Century City 3, and Sepulveda 6 buses. 

Evelyn has been a bus driver for nine years and has worked for the Culver CityBus for the last three years.  This is his first Earl Barr Culver CityBus Operator of the Year award. 

"Mr. Evelyn has exemplified great skill and dedication in performing the duties of this job," said Samantha Blackshire, Transit Operations Manager for Culver City.  "He is appreciated for his polite and cordial manner toward all Culver City Bus passengers and co-workers."

When not carting passengers, Evelyn enjoys watching basketball games and dancing with his wife. 

He received the award at the June 28 City Council meeting.  During his acceptance, he thanked his wife and children, who were in attendance.  He was given the award for his outstanding service "while maintaining an excellent safety and attendance record," according to a press release put out by the City.
