City Council To Discuss Upcoming Flurry of Construction Near Expo Line

City staff will also seek direction on allowing extended construction hours.

The Culver City City Council next Monday will discuss ongoing construction projects in the vicinity of Washington and National Boulevards and their impact on public safety, the city announced last week.

According to the city, the City Council will discuss public safety and traffic issues that may arise around Metro construction as well as the Legado Crossing and Platform Complex developments.

"In addition to the existing Metro construction, both the Legado and Platform projects will be underway shortly," the city said in an email update. "This has raised some concerns regarding substantial impacts to traffic and the potential for impeding access to that area for emergency services."

City staff at Monday's meeting will also seek direction from the council on a possible municipal code amendment that would allow for extended construction hours under certain circumstances.

According to the city, the extended construction hours could potentially "preserve the public health, safety and general welfare by decreasing the overall duration of construction and mitigating related impacts."

Monday's City Council meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the council chambers,
9770 Culver Boulevard.
