Update on Abandoned, Abused Dog 'Cruiser' Looking For a New Home

Cruiser was brought into Advanced Critical Care by the Culver City Police Department Friday after his owner locked him in the trunk of his car and then threw him on a sidewalk.

'Cruiser' - the abused pitbull who was rescued by Culver City Police and taken to Advanced Critical Care on Friday afternoon is recovering and a home is being sought for him.

Rachelle Surrency of Advanced Critical Care in Culver City spoke with Culver City Patch by telephone this morning and said that a couple of rescue organizations have come forward and are actively searching and working diligently to find a new home for Cruiser, who has aggression issues and needs a home with no other pets.

Cruiser, who came into the animal hospital suffering severe dehydration, is doing "much better" Surrency said. "We were worried about some internal trauma but he has stabilized well," she said, adding that ACC has decided to keep him an extra couple of days while a home is found for the six-year-old dog.

"We just want to say how grateful we are to the Culver City Police Department for rushing Cruiser here right away and all the work they have done," she added.

Surrency also said that ACC is covering all of Cruiser's medical expenses while he is on the premises.

Patch will bring you more details on Cruiser's situation as they become available.
