Power Outage Hits Nearly 1,700 Homes

The outage lasts less than an hour for most, while others have to wait until night to get their power back.

A power outage struck 1,689 Southern California Edison customers in Culver City Saturday afternoon.

Downed power lines initiated the outage at 12:52 p.m. at residences south of Centinela Avenue, north of Slauson Avenue, west of Canterbury Drive and east of Wooster Avenue, said spokesperson Mashi Nyssen.

Electricty for most customers was restored by 1:30 p.m., she said.
