UPDATE: Police Chase Ends Near Westfield Culver City

The driver is arrested Tuesday near the mall by Los Angeles Police Department officers.

UPDATE, 1:52 p.m.: Reports say that the unidentified driver refused to get out of his van, thus starting the chase. The van was covered with hand-scrawled Biblical references and messages criticizing the LAPD. The man is now in custody.

Los Angeles police chased a vehicle Tuesday to Culver City and arrested the driver, authorities said. The chase ended about noon near the Westfield Culver City shopping mall, in the 6000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, said Officer Lyle Knight of the LAPD's media relations office.

It was not immediately known why officers were chasing the vehicle. "We are still waiting for the details of the pursuit and what he was arrested for," Knight said.
