Police Blotter: Vandalism, Robbery and Burglary

A store owner and a customer were locked in the store's restroom by armed robbers.

Here's a recap of crimes that occurred between Jan. 17 and Jan. 23, as reported to the Culver City Police Department.

Vandalism

On Jan. 17 at 8:30 p.m. a victim called the police department to report she was a victim of vandalism. The victim said she parked and locked her 2001 Saturn in the 10800 block of Oregon Ave. on Jan. 16 at 10 p.m. She returned the next morning at 9:30 a.m. and discovered the front driver side window had been shattered.

Commercial Robbery

On Jan. 18 at 10:40 a.m. officers responded to the 4100 block of Sepulveda Blvd. regarding a robbery investigation. The officers met with the victim who said she was working when two male suspects entered the location and displayed a handgun and demanded she give them the merchandise. Then both suspects ordered the victim and a customer to a restroom and locked them in. The suspects then removed the merchandise from the location and fled.

The suspects were described as black males, 20-25 years of age, medium build and wearing black jeans.

Street Robbery

On Jan. 19 at 9:20 a.m. officers responded to the area of Sepulveda Boulevard and Slauson Avenue regarding a robbery investigation. The officers met with the victim who said he was waiting for the bus when he saw two suspects approaching him. They asked about is phone and if they could see it. The victim told them no. Suspect 1 then produced a handgun and demanded his phone. Fearing for his safety the victim gave the suspects his phone and they fled the location. The suspects were described as black males, 17-18 years of age, short hair, 5’8 to 5’9 and both were wearing hoodies.

Attempted Burglary

On Jan. 19 at 6:20 p.m. officers responded to the 5200 block of Sepulveda Blvd. regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them he locked and secured his home at 9 a.m. He returned at 7 p.m. and discovered his front door had pry marks and was partially opened. The suspects were unable to enter the location and fled the area.

Car Burglary

On Jan. 20 at 4:50 p.m. a victim called the police department to report her 2000 Volvo had been burglarized. The victim said she parked and locked her vehicle in the 4200 block of Sepulveda Blvd. She returned to her in a few minutes and discovered her property missing.
