Police Blotter: Odd Case of Vandalism

A woman reported someone threw a metal object at her BMW on Washington Boulevard in Culver City.

Here's a recap of crimes that occurred between July 2 through July 9 as reported to the Culver City Police Department.

Attempted Street Robbery

On July 2 at 9:45 a.m. officers responded to the 6200 block of Bristol Pkwy. regarding an attempted robbery. The officers met with the victim who told them she was sitting in her car when she was approached by a female suspect. The suspect told her to "look here" and when she did she saw a handgun in her waistband. The victim then began yelling and the suspect turned around and walked away. The suspect was described as a black female, 25 years, thin build, and wearing jeans.

Commercial Burglary

On July 2 at 3:45 p.m. officers responded to the 11100 block of Overland Ave. regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the reporting party who told them he noticed a broken window and when he checked the interior of the location discovered property was missing.

Residential Burglary

On July 3 at 8:35 p.m. officers responded to the 10800 block of Galvin St. regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them she left at 5:50 a.m. and her residence was locked and secured. She returned at 8:20 p.m. and discovered her back door was open and her property missing.

Stolen Vehicle

On July 5 at 5:50 p.m. officers responded to the 5700 block of Buckingham Pkwy. regarding a Grand Theft Auto investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them an employee parked and locked a 2000 Ford van on July 3 at 1 p.m. When he returned on July 5 at 8 a.m. he noticed the van missing.

Vandalism

On July 7 at 1:20 p.m. a victim called the police department to report her 2011 BMW had been vandalized. The victim said she was in the 13400 block of Washington Blvd. when a suspect threw a metal object at her car. The object struck her car causing a small dent in the body. The suspect was described as a white male riding a bicycle.
