Police Blotter: Missing Money and Vandalism

This week's crime roundup features a couple of cases of vandalism and an unauthorized withdrawl from an ATM.

Keep on reading for a recap of crimes, as told to the Culver City Police Department.

An unauthorized withdrawl

On July 19 at 3 p.m., a victim came to the police department to report a theft of funds from her bank account. The victim told the officer that  someone had used her ATM account number to access her bank account. They then removed money from her account. She said no one had permission to use her ATM card.

Missing property

On July 19 at 4 p.m., officers went to the 3500 block of Hayden Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim, who told them that the business may have been left unsecured due to repairs being conducted. The victim said he last saw his missing property in April 2011 and when he returned on June 3, he noticed that the property was missing.

A case of vandalism

On July 22 at 8 p.m., a victim came to the police department to report that he was a victim of vandalism. The victim said he left his residence in the 4100 block of McLaughlin Avenue at 4 p.m. and when he returned at 6 p.m., he noticed that someone damaged his breaker box and his front door knob had been broken.

Check the sliding glass door

On July 22 at 2:10 p.m., officers went to the 5600 block of Windsor Way regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim, who told them that she locked and secured her residence at 10:30 a.m. and returned at 1 p.m. to find her front door unlocked. The victim entered her residence and noticed her sliding glass doors were also opened and unlocked. She checked the rest of her residence and discovered her property missing.

A broken car window

On July 23 at 11:45 p.m., a victim called the police department to report his car had been burglarized. The victim said he parked and locked his 1998 Nissan Altima in the 12900 block of Washington Boulevard at 9:30 p.m. When he returned at 11:30 p.m., he discovered his front passenger window had been broken out. He then discovered that his was property missing.

A spray painted door

On July 24 at 1:15 p.m., a victim came to the police department to report she was a victim of a crime. The victim said her 2009 Mitsubishi was parked and locked in the 4000 block of Harter Avenue at 6 a.m. When she returned at 9 a.m., she noticed that someone spray painted her car door.
