Police Blotter: Grand Theft Auto and Assault

Crimes in this week's roundup also include burglary, vandalism and a car break-in.

Car Burglary:

On June 27 at 3:20 p.m., a victim came to the police department to report that her 2010 Toyota had been burglarized. The victim said she parked and locked her car in the 9800 block of Jefferson Boulevard at 1:55 p.m. When she returned at 3:05 pm she noticed her front passenger window had been smashed out and her property missing.

Stolen Vehicle:

On June 28 at 8:30 a.m., officers responded to the 5600 block of Sumner Way regarding a grand theft auto investigation. The officers met with the victim, who told them that he parked and locked his 2003 Cadillac on June 27 at 6:30 pm. He said that when he returned the next morning at 8 a.m. he discovered his vehicle missing.

Residential Burglary:

On June 29 at 7 p.m., officers responded to the 4100 block of Bledsoe Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim, who told them that had she locked and secured her residence at 9:45 a.m. When she returned at 5:15 p.m. she discovered a rear window screen had been removed and her property missing.

Vandalism:

On July 1 at 8:20 a.m., a witness called the police department to report that vandalism had just occurred in the 3500 block of Eastham Drive. The witness said he observed an unknown suspect spray painting the back wall of a business. Officers responded to the location and conducted an area search for the suspect and conducted a field investigation.

Assault Investigation:

On July 3 at 9 a.m. officers responded to the 3800 block of Tilden Avenue regarding an assault investigation. Officers met with the victim, who told them that she had had a verbal argument with her boyfriend. The boyfriend then escalated the argument, she said, and struck her and fled.
