Police Blotter: Grand Theft Auto and a Park Robbery

This week's crime roundup includes a not-so-safe saunter around Fox Hills Park.

What's missing from my car?

On April 12  at 12:20 p.m., a victim called the station to report her 2008 GMC Yukon had been burglarized. The victim said she parked and locked her vehicle in the 600 block of Corporate Point on April 12 at 9 a.m. She returned at 12:20 p.m. and discovered her driver’s door open and her property missing.

A case of stolen property 

On April 12 at 1:45 p.m., officers responded to the 5700 block of Buckingham Parkway regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the owner of the business who told them that on April 10 at 8:52 a.m., two male black suspects entered the location through the front doors, proceeded up a set of stairs to a lobby area and removed some property from a desk. The suspects then walked back downstairs and entered another office and removed property from that location. They then fled.

Grand theft auto

On April 14 at 2:05 p.m., officers responded to the 6000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard regarding a grand theft auto investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them that he parked and locked his 2003 Chevy Tahoe at 12:30 p.m. and when he returned at 1:30 p.m., his vehicle was missing.

Not a casual walk in the park

On April 17 at 10:10 p.m., officers went to the area of Buckingham Parkway and Sumner Way regarding a robbery investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them that he and a friend were walking near Fox Hills Park when they were approached by a male black, 5’8, wearing a blue baseball hat, khaki shorts, and a short sleeve shirt. The suspect produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s wallet.  The suspect then fled the area.

Street Robbery:

On April 17 at 10 p.m., officers went to the 6000 block of Centinela Avenue regarding a robbery investigation. The officers met with the two victims who told them that they were walking on Centinela Avenue just under the 405 freeway when they were approached by two male suspects who stopped them and demanded their property. One of them then struck one of the victims and took his wallet and both of the suspects fled the location.

Suspect 1 was described a male black, 18-20 years old, 5’8 to 5’9, thin build and short hair. Suspect 2 was described as a male black with thin build, 18 to 20 years old, and 5’6 to 5’7, and short dark hair.
