Police Blotter: Forgery, Assault, Theft and Vandalism

A woman was assaulted while waiting to use a recycling facility.

Criminals didn’t take time off over the holiday period to be with their loved ones. Here's a recap of crimes that occurred between Dec. 27 and Jan. 2, as reported to the Culver City Police Department.

Forgery

On Dec. 27 at 11:10 a.m. a man came to the police department to report his father may have been the victim of forgery. He told police he was checking his father’s bank records and noticed that his account was missing funds. He also noticed that the activity was related to one individual who had written checks to herself.

Stolen Vehicle

On Dec. 27 at 11:35 p.m. officers responded to 3800 block of Culver Center St. regarding a stolen vehicle investigation. The officers met with the victim who said he parked and locked his 2007 Suzuki motorcycle at 10 p.m. When he returned at 11:15 p.m. he discovered his motorcycle missing.

Car Burglary

On Dec. 29 at 2:30 p.m. a victim came to the police department to report his 2008 Chevrolet was broken into. He said he parked and locked his vehicle in the 6000 block of Sepulveda Blvd. at 1 p.m. When he returned at 2:30 p.m. he noticed his property missing.

Assault

On Dec. 29 at 3:35 p.m. officers responded to the 10700 block of Sepulveda Blvd. regarding a battery investigation. The officers met with the victim who said she was waiting in a line to use the recyclable machine when the suspect approached her and he asked her if he could use the machine before her. The victim said she was about to answer the suspect when he grabbed her by the wrist and pushed her away from the machine.

Attempted Commercial Burglary

On Dec. 31 at 8:30 a.m. officers responded to the 5500 block of Sepulveda Blvd. regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met victim who told them the business was locked and secured at 12:30 a.m. At 8 a.m. the following morning employees arrived and noticed the back door had been tampered with and was missing bolts from the hinges.

Vandalism

On Jan. 1 at 6 p.m. a victim of vandalism flagged officers down. The officers met with the victim who told them she parked her vehicle in the 6000 block of Sepulveda Blvd. at 5:20 p.m. When she returned at 5:55 p.m. she discovered unknown suspect(s) had keyed her car.
