Police Blotter: Burglaries and a Hot Honda

This week's crime roundup includes multiple commercial burglaries and a disappearing license plate.

Read on for a recap of crimes, as reported to the Culver City Police Department. 

A stolen Honda 

On Feb. 22 at 2 p.m., officers went to the 11200 block of Overland Avenue regarding a stolen car investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them that he parked and locked his 2000 Honda Accord on Feb. 20 at 3 p.m. When he returned on Feb. 22 at 10 a.m., his vehicle was missing.

A lifted license plate 

A victim came to the police department on Feb. 22 at 9:15 p.m. to report her front license plate had been stolen. The victim said she parked and secured her vehicle in the 10600 block of St. James Drive at 9 a.m. When she returned at 1:30 p.m., she noticed her front license plate was missing.

Not in the condition I left it

On Feb. 22 at 9:15 p.m., someone called the department to report a car burglary. The victim said he parked and locked his 2004 Volkswagon Golf in the area of the 12200 block of Washington Boulevard at 7 p.m. When he returned at 8:50 p.m., he discovered the rear passenger window was broken and that his personal property was missing.

Commercial burglaries abound

On Feb. 24 at 5:15 a.m., officers went to the 8600 block of National Boulevard regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with someone who told them that an employee secured the business at 7 p.m. the night before.  When the officers arrived, they noticed the glass door was broken. The victim told the officers that there was property missing. 

Officers went to the 5100 block of Sawtelle Boulevard on Feb. 25 at 1:45 p.m. regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told that someone pried open a steel container used to store tools and batteries and removed property.  

On Feb. 27 at 12:15 a.m., officers went to the 5500 block of Sepulveda Boulevard regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them that he secured the location at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 26. He returned to the business after receiving a call from the alarm company.

When he arrived, he noticed someone broke a window and entered the location. The suspect then removed property from the location and fled in an unknown direction.
