Police Blotter: A Hot Honda and a Ransacked Home

This week's crime roundup features a stolen car and a victim who returned home to find his property missing.

Keep on reading for a recap of crimes, as told to the Culver City Police Department.

Forged checks
On June 14 at 5:30 p.m., a victim went to the police department to report a forgery. The victim said his business is located in the 3700 block of Robertson Boulevard, and that someone had forged a check and cashed it. The victim said he did not authorize anyone to write or cash any of his company’s checks.

Car Burglaries
On June 14 at 8 p.m., a victim called the police department to report that his 2010 Cadillac was burglarized in the 6000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard. The victim said he parked and locked his vehicle at 6 p.m., and when he returned at 7:45 p.m. he saw that the driver's side key hole was damaged and that the door was open. He checked the interior of the vehicle and discovered missing property.

On June 18 at 8:35 p.m., a victim called the police department to report his 2000 SAAB had been burglarized in the 5600 block of Slauson Avenue. The victim said he parked and locked his vehicle at 10 p.m., returned at 11 p.m. and saw that his driver's side window was down. He checked the interior of his vehicle and saw that someone removed his property.

On June 15 at 4 p.m., officers went to the 4200 block of Ince Boulevard regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim, who told them that he locked and secured his residence at 10:30 a.m. When he returned at 4 p.m., he  discovered that his home was ransacked and that his property was missing.

Check the cash register

On June 16 at 9:50 a.m., a victim called the police department to report that he was a victim of grand theft. The victim said his business, which is located in the 3300 block of Helms Boulevard, was missing money. The victim said after he conducted an audit and received complaints from his customers, he discovered the missing funds.

A hot Honda

On June 19 at 9:15 a.m., officers went to the 10900 block of Culver Boulevard regarding a stolen vehicle investigation. The officers met with the victim, who told them that he parked and locked his 1995 Honda Accord at 12 a.m. and when he returned at 9 a.m., he saw that his vehicle was missing.
