Police Arrest 2 Burglary Suspects in Culver City Wednesday Night

A woman returns home to find a man inside her Culver City home.

Culver City police arrested two alleged burglars Wednesday night after a woman returned home to find an unknown man inside her home, police announced late Thursday afternoon.

According to Culver City police Lt. Jason Sims, the incident occurred at around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday after the homeowner saw a man inside her residence called police. Sims said officers quickly set up a perimeter around the house, which sits near the intersection of Roberts Avenue and Jacob Street.

A helicopter from the Los Angeles Police Department also aided in the search.

"Shortly thereafter, two male subjects attempted to walk out of the perimeter
and were quickly detained by officers," Sims said in a news release. "They were found to be in possession of property that was stolen from the resident’s home and were subsequently arrested for burglary," he said.

Taken into custody were Bisiriyu Shekoni, 19 of Los Angeles and a juvenile suspect whose name was withheld. Both suspects were still in custody as of late Thursday afternoon, Sims said.
