Update: Multiple Police Units at Westfield Culver City Following Possible Carjacking

The incident occurred at approximately 12:10 p.m. Friday. Culver City Police say despite shots allegedly being fired no victim has been discovered and there is no trace of the suspects involved, either.

Update Fri. Sept. 7, 12:50 p.m.

Sgt. Nielsen of the Culver City Police Department told Patch that police are still on the scene but that both the allged victim and suspects seem to have disappeared.

"Witnesses reported shots possibly fired but we have not yet found any alleged victim(s) or the suspects. Units are still on the scene in the vicinity of the Good Year/JC Penney store area."

Culver City Police have dispatched several units to Westfield Culver City following a report by mall security that shots were fired.

According to scanner reports, two black males opened fire on a third male subject in what may have been an attempted carjacking.

Culver City Police is reporting that the men fled in an unknown model and make of SUV after opening fire on another male subject under the 90 Freeway at Fox Hills.

According to unconfirmed witness reports, the men were driving a Blue RAV4, and the incident occurred near the Good Year store. Witnesses also say they believe they saw three black males in the suspect vehicle. The driver is described as in his early 20s, thin build, wearing a white T-shirt and a backwards baseball cap.
