Minor Injuries in Double Accident at Sawtelle Boulevard and Washington Place

Culver City Police were responding to one accident on Tuesday night when a second accident occurred in the same spot, five minutes later.

At approximately 6:15 p.m. on Tues. Nov. 13, Culver City Police were responding to an accident at the intersection of Sawtelle Boulevard and Washington Place, when a second accident occurred in the same spot five minutes later.

In the first accident, Culver City Police Lt. Ron Iizuka told Patch a driver in a 1994 Mercedes was traveling northbound on Sawtelle Boulevard when a driver in a 1996 Toyota Forerunner traveling southbound on Sawtelle tried to turn eastbound onto Washington Place and hit the Mercedes.

One driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Brotman Medical Center and then released.

The investigation is still ongoing and there are no further details at this time, Iizuka said. He added there were no additional details regarding the second accident, which occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. and also involved two cars, because no one was injured and the damage to both cars was minor.

“The drivers just exchanged insurance details and did not file a police report,” Iizuka said.
