Man in Wheelchair Dies After Being Struck by Driver in Culver City

The 70-year-old man was attempting to cross the street at Sawtelle Boulevard and McDonald Street when the accident happened.

A 70-year-old man in a wheelchair who was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross the road in Culver City Tuesday afternoon has died.

Sgt. Sims of the Culver City Police Department told Patch the accident occurred at approximately 3:48 p.m., when a vehicle traveling south on Sawtelle Boulevard approaching McDonald Street struck a man in a wheelchair who was attempting to cross Sawtelle.

The man was transported to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center but passed away shortly thereafter as a result of his injuries.

The Culver City Police Traffic Department Bureau is currently investigating the incident.
