Man Found Dead Near Culver City

Officers responded to calls of gunshots fired near Culver City and found a man dead behind the wheel from a gunshot wound to the head.

An unidentified man was found dead in his car this morning on Margaret Avenue near Jefferson Boulevard with a gunshot wound to the head. No motive is known at this time and no suspects have been identified, said LAPD Officer Bruce Borihanh. Borihanh also said he is unsure whether the homicide is gang-related. 

LAPD officers responded to calls reporting gunshots at 7 a.m. Friday morning and were sent to the 5500 block of Margaret Avenue. They found the victim in what has been reported as a Lexus. UPDATE at 11:51 a.m.: The Lexus was reported stolen two weeks ago, per the City News Service. 

The dead man's age and identity have not been released by authorities as of this hour. A homicide investigation currently is underway.
