Party Shooting Victim Identified

The man who was fatally shot at a party over the weekend has been identified as Osvaldo Ruelas.

Authorities identified the man who was fatally shot while hosting a party at his house near Culver City over the weekend as 36-year-old Osvaldo Ruelas.

The shooting occurred in the 3100 block of South Halm Avenue, near
Venice Boulevard, about 11 p.m. on Saturday, said Los Angeles police Officer Gregory Baek of the Media Relations office.

Ruelas died at a hospital said Assistant Chief Ed Winter
of the coroner's office. There were no arrests.

Baek said Ruelas was inside his residence when three men approached and shots were fired through a window, wounding him. Police were unsure of a motive for the crime, Baek said.
